Who needs a custom media service?
Event organisers, education platforms, publishers and businesses may need their own access rules, interface or integrations. An existing video platform can be sufficient for occasional publishing. Custom infrastructure is worth assessing when specific requirements cannot be met by that platform.

The estimate depends on channel count, expected concurrent viewers, access rules and integrations. A quote should distinguish implementation work from recurring licensing, hosting, storage, traffic, CDN and maintenance costs. There is no single substantiated price for every configuration.

Playback quality and delay depend on the input signal, connections, devices and infrastructure. Capacity for a given audience must be tested; installing a media server does not establish it. Access controls cannot prevent every form of copying. The client must hold the rights needed to distribute the content.
Availability requirements, support outside normal working hours and recording retention need separate agreement. Continuous operational support is not automatically included in the initial implementation.
